With rabbit season opening here in Mississippi and cooler weather on the way our adventures should get restarted soon. A pack of beaglers working a swamprabbit's track in the cold, wet, muddy swamps of the south is hard to beat. I can hear'm now!

My favorite American Gun Dog adventure was hunting with Harley and crew. We all had a great time and enjoyed the woodcock hunting. Glad you could join us in Michigan!

Just got back from filming and episode for season five! We had a GREAT time and plenty of Squirrel Dog Action, should be a great show!

The sport of hunting with dogs is truly an international language and no one speaks it better than American Gundog's Host, Harley Jackson!! We had a blast with Harley and the fella's (Doug and Brian, Camera Guru's) These guys are "masters of thier craft" and that in part is why the show is the best hunting dog show on the air today!

Thanks to the American Gundog Family, I am glad I could be a part in one small way. I only hope that someday, somehow, we can do it again camera's or no camera's cause you guys are a BLAST to hunt with!

Thanks,

Greetings

My name is George Van Syckel. I am the founder of the American Woodcock organization. I am looking forward to your Woodcock hunt in Maine. If you would like me to place it on my site I would be glad to assist you, assist the plight of the American Woodcock.

AMERICAN WOODCOCK ORGANIZATION

January, 2007 the American Woodcock Organization was born to unite land owners, scientist, individual and corporate sponsors, county, state, federal and international government to protect and insure that the American Woodcock would flourish for generations to come.

The purpose of this organization is to improve the habitat of the American Woodcock in order to restore and maintain the American Woodcock to its historic population. As a non-profit organization there will be web access without charge, so as to not limit any who may wish to discover the plight of this diminutive migratory upland game bird.

Accomplishing this monumental task will require the financial resources of concerned individual and corporate philanthropic benefactors, the expertise of the scientific research community, the leadership of county, state, national and international government, and the public influence of a myriad of volunteers to instruct and lead all who are committed to the purpose of the preservation of the American Woodcock.

Great show!!! It's a breath of fresh air to watch western upland bird hunting as I am an avid Nevada chukar hunter. With all the hunting shows on T.V. a westerner can only handle so much treestand whitetail deer hunting or hunting planted birds on a private farm. The "cast and blast" episode in Hells Canyon was excellent.Keep showing WILD chukar, hun and western quail hunting. THANKS

Just got done watching the Maine woodcock show-very well done. Another fabulous year on timberdoodles here in Venango Co, PA, the grouse numbers were on the rise also. We do Cast & Blast if anyone is interested.

Keep your powder, martinis, amd trout flies dry......

Back in early December I had Harley and his camera crew in a for sea duck hunt with my Chesapeake Bay Retriever. We hunted out of lay out boats over 1000 yards offshore in the middle of the Chesapeake Bay. This was a little different setting from what these guys were used to but it was a good time and alot of work. Everybody pitched in and helped out to make the hunt a success. They were there to film a hunt but for three days they were a part of our crew. They did everything from driving boats, help with decoys, and help load and unload the layouts on the tender boat. These guys got to expierence some of the harsh conditions of the Chesapeake Bay and see the mental and physical toughness of the Chesapeake Bay Retriever. These dogs were bred to take these conditions and they are still bred the same way 200 years later.

When they air the show with my Chesapeake you will truely be watching a Americn Gun Dog because the Chesapeake Bay Retriever is the ONLY amercian bred retriever.

I dont know if you guys read this but you guys are welcomed to come hunting with me anytime.

Keep up the great work guys. My friends and I watch you all the time. You are one of the few shows that in my opinion focuses on the hunt, and not selling outdoor goods. You guys show a real love and respect for your quarry.

I really enjoy watching your show. I've purchased my first gun dog and she is now 4 years old. I search out shows like yours continuously and try to pick up as much knowledge as possible. As far as my hunting season is concerned, it was the best I have ever experienced. I had my standard southeastern wisconsin upland hunting. Not that great. The dog was great and I shot all 10 of my birds that I'm alloted for the season. All though the highlight of the season was my first trip to North Dakota, hunting wild birds with Belle for the first time. This is going to sound crazy, but 1500 to 2000 birds per day was the norm. I have never seen anything like it, and Belle was fantastic. I have to give all the credit for my trip and my great dog, to the owner, operator of Dale Creek Gun Dogs, Tom Waite. He's own of the best trainers that I have seen. He also owns the house in the Dakotas where we stayed. This could make for a great show, although a little chilly, I would bet that you would film more birds in a weekend of hunting than you have ever filmed. I am endorsing this guys service with out him knowing I'm doing so because he deserves the exposure. You need to get in touch with Tom, it would make for a great show. Pheasant, Huns, and sharp tails to boot.
